PARALOID EXL-5137

PARALOID EXL-5137 is a high efficiency optical properties modifier developed for engineering resins. This product is a dust free, pellet and has a particular shape and structure specially designed to decrease the gloss of a finished product without affecting the mechanical properties. PARALOID EXL-5137 provides significant matting efficiency and acts as a light diffuser. It maintains high mechanical properties compared to some inorganic pigments. At very low levels in transparent resins, it provides a high level of opalescence. PARALOID EXL-5137 reduces gloss over a range of concentrations and moulding conditions, with just 5% reducing gloss by 50%. It also provides significant gloss reduction in blends, reducing gloss by 50% at 10%. Similar performance is obtained in other systems. PARALOID EXL-5137 allows for cost reduction by eliminating the need for textured tools or coatings during secondary finishing of advanced materials.
