ASP 400 P

ASP 400P is a highly pulverized hydrous aluminum silicate powder with a median particle size of 3.5 microns and specific gravity of 2.58. It has low oil absorption of 33% and is chemically inert. ASP 400P improves enamel holdout in primers and allows for higher loading in formulations due to its low resin demand and controlled exotherm properties. Its coarse particle size and high aspect ratio make it well-suited for exterior coatings where craze resistance and good substrate adherence are required. ASP 400P is widely used in architectural and industrial primers, stains, reinforced thermoset composites, and molded/extruded profiles due to benefits such as low shrinkage and glass fiber reinforcement.
